Dr. Seeram Ramakrishna is the Strategy Research Vice President of the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering and a former Dean of NUS Faculty of Engineering from 2003-2008. His current research interests include biomaterials, tissue engineering, and nanotechnology. He is advancing the materials science, manufacturing technology, and design aspects of nanobiomaterials to realize their full potential in human health care. He serves on management boards of Global Asia Institute, GAI; Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES); Temasek Polytechnic, Ministry of Education; DSO National Laboratories; Ministry of Defense; Energy Studies Institute; Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade & Industry. He is a member of Concept Plan 2011 Focus Group, Urban Redevelopment Authority, and Mid-term Review Panel for Clean Energy, National Research Foundation of Singapore. His research output appeared in over 400 publications. These include several peer-reviewed journal publications, book chapters, books and patents. He is a Scientific Advisor to the Biomers International, a biomedical device company.
