Dr. Dal Negro's thesis was titled "Stimulated Emisson and Photon Diffusion in Low-Dimensional Silicon Structure."  He recently joined the faculty of Boston University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

His main research interests include:  optical spectroscopy of semiconductor nanostructures; optical gain and non-linear optics; light scattering and localization in complex photonic structures; optical quasicrystal (QPx); growth and characterization of silicon nanostructures and Er-doped light-emitting material.
